When the Addnode PLM Division incorporating TechniaTranscat worldwide and Intrinsys United Kingdom, talk about 369% growth in the last five years it’s important to understand what it means from a customer and employee opportunity perspective.
Yes they state that acquisition is one of their most important business strategies but it’s about getting better not just getting bigger.
When Addnode acquired Intrinsys back in August 2017 it came a little out of the blue for the vast majority of employees. Not so for everyone as the joining of the two businesses had been a substantial and carefully crafted next step for both.
Intrinsys had sold and supported group software for many years and TechniaTranscat had been an active partner in the UK Intelligent Engineering Forum (UKIEF), hosted by Intrinsys.
The UKIEF came about on the back of a bow wave of interest and uptake of Dassault Systèmes disruptive and digitising 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Intrinsys had invested in the new platform, recognising the potential it held for its customers.
They had become one of the foremost authorities on the business benefits the product offers and quickly grew the number of users and the success of the businesses that deployed the platform.
As the pervasive nature of the product became clear Intrinsys recognised that its customers and prospective customers required greater systems integration and wider, international, support. This became a plan to develop the business to meet the increasing need of its customers and ended in the acquisition by Addnode.
In addition to opening the door of opportunity for Intrinsys staff to expand their careers through new experiences and international deployments it opens the door to a host of new capabilities and global development benefits for its new customer base.
Just as people find a soul mate in life, sometimes, and not often, the same can happen in business.
