Intrinsys was formed by leading independent powertrain consultancy Integral Powertrain (IP) back in 2001.
At the time, IP were a young and very active company using Dassault Systèmes CATIA V4 software. As experienced users, they were approached by Dassault Systèmes to become a development site for their new parametric design software CATIA V5. Integral Powertrain put the new software to work immediately and helped Dassault with feedback on performance, early teething problems and ways they could make it an even better product. Their enthusiastic use of V5 spurred Dassault on to offer IP the opportunity to sell and support their software in the UK, and so Intrinsys was formed.
Integral Powertrain has continued to grow, supported by Intrinsys with it’s PLM requirements and a number of engineering services. It is now a globally-known and respected powertrain specialist that undertakes key design and development projects supporting OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in delivering competitive products to market.
IP has more recently extended its strong ICE presence into the hybrid and electric motor sectors, delivering world class products and services into the Automotive, Motorsport, Aerospace, Defence and Marine markets. This capability has led to the manufacture of high performance electric motors at its Engineering Centre located in the heart of the UK’s automotive industry.
IP’s vehicle integration, testing and validation services have developed into its Emissions and Driveline Test Facility that supports its UK clients with extensive roller and temperature controlled emission and electric motor test facilities. It also provides engineers at a number of test and development facilities located at client sites, when additional or specialist engineer resources are required.
Integral Powertrain’s client list includes many prestigious companies in the UK, Europe, Asia, the Far East and North America, operating in a wide range of sectors including passenger cars, on and off highway, commercial vehicles (CV’s), Motorsport, Aerospace, Defence and Marine.
