Duration: 2 Days
Companies strive to improve their profitability and a key element to achieve this is the link between product design and manufacture. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is a standardised system that when understood and used effectively, can significantly reduce manufacturing costs and improve quality. This course provides a comprehensive introduction into how to apply, read and understand technical drawings employing GD&T, aligned to:
- ASME Y14.5-2009 International Drawing Standard
- SANS 10111 South African National Standard
- ISO International Drawing Standard
- BS 8888
The course covers the following topics:
- Introduction to Geometric Tolerances
- Feature control frames
- Theoretically exact dimensions
- Geometric characteristics
- Modifying symbols
Course material is supplemented by training exercises enabling candidates to understand and apply geometric principles. Candidates are encouraged to bring along their own sample drawings for discussion and peer review at the end of the second day.
