Academic licences are heavily discounted configurations available for use by eligible educational establishments or students enrolled at such establishments. Eligibility is subject to strict controls, but broadly speaking, traditional schools, colleges and universities would meet these guidelines.
Specific restrictions are as follows:
- CATIA software may not be used in conjunction with any course of which CATIA itself is the primary subject of instruction, unless that course is offered as part of a regular degree or certificate granting programme.
- CATIA software may not be used for the development of revenue-producing products nor engineering design service offerings.
The primary academic license is known as ED2 and contains the full suite of CATIA P2 products.
