1) Function-Driven Generative Design
Generative Design is the perfect launch pad for an Additive Manufacturing (AM) part, producing the lightest components to meet the engineering requirement. The optimised output design can be easily validated against a range of manufacturing methods to select the best solution for you.
2) Process Planning
Once AM has been selected then the part, with all its data, can be added to the virtual build plate of your chosen printer and the manufacturing process defined. Automated nesting options make sure multi-part print runs are optimised and you may choose from a library of native supports and laser scan paths to best suit your part.
3) Virtual Printing
Simulating the entire print process couldn’t be easier on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. One dataset and a guided assistant take you, one step at a time, through the build process to produce high confidence results. It allows you to avoid part distortions and residual stresses while minimising execution time and retaining all the necessary information in a safe virtual environment.
Post processing functionality allows you to optimise the build process even further. Support structures require post print removal and some parts require additional finishing procedures, all of which may be simulated to allow the best option to be taken. Finally, part in service simulation can be carried out and all before a single part is actually printed.
