Toyota Formula 1 Team Talk About Why They Use CATIA

October 12, 2010

More F1 constructors and engine manufacturers use CATIA and ENOVIA than any other product life cycle solutions.

Every Formula One (F1) grid features the best in racing: top drivers and state-of-the-art racing cars designed and built using CATIA and ENOVIA Solutions. Of the 11 competing Formula One teams, 9 have designed either the car's chassis or engine, or both, in CATIA. In addition, Toyota Motorsport, the final F1 entrant in the 2002 racing season, is developing and building its complete car, from the ground up, in CATIA and ENOVIA Solutions.

CATIA Solutions is the world's leading computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering software (CAD/CAM/CAE). ENOVIA Solutions provide collaborative product lifecycle management capabilities to create an open, knowledge-based environment that links companies, their customers and their suppliers. Dassault Systemes develops ENOVIA and CATIA.

"CATIA and ENOVIA are the de-facto standards for product life cycle management in Formula One," said Klaus Schafer, director of worldwide digital enterprise sales"The numbers speak for themselves. Current Formula One teams and engine manufacturers have purchased more than 800 CATIA and ENOVIA licenses, and leading tire companies and other professionals who supply F1 teams have hundreds of CATIA and ENOVIA installed seats."
