Dassault Systemes Develop Search Applications with Exalead

July 12, 2011

Dassault Aviation has developed the prototype of a new application for flight line crew and mechanics, built around a Search-Based applications development platform from Exalead, a subsidiary of Dassault Systèmes.

Developed by a mixed Dassault Systèmes-Bull team, it allows instant post-flight access to all the maintenance data used for diagnostics support. Several hundred thousand records – aircraft, system and equipment repair records and other maintenance reports – contained in different databases are collected, indexed and linked together by high-performance search algorithms.

“With Exalead, we have been able to solve problems that we could not resolve with traditional enterprise management solutions. Within a few weeks, we had access to effective dashboards, adapted to the requirements of a wide variety of activities and capable of aggregating heterogeneous data sources,” said Jean Sass, CIO, Information System Division, Dassault Aviation.
