Composites Modeller for Abaqus/CAE complements and extends the powerful ply modelling features in Abaqus/CAE by providing proven fiber simulation capabilities and advanced model building—all seamlessly integrated within Abaqus/CAE. Composites Modeller for Abaqus/CAE directly transfers accurate fiber angles and ply thicknesses to Abaqus simulations for unprecedented accuracy, and allows rapid review and modification of the composites model for rapid design improvement.

This webinar will demonstrate the process flow to be followed in order to analyse Composites in Composite Modeller. It will also demonstrate how the data can be transferred from ABAQUS to CATIA and vice versa by using composite modeller.

The webinar will cover:

  • Introduction to Composite Modeller
  • Ply Modelling, meshing and analysis
  • Analysis Results
  • Data Integration with CATIA

Kedar Upadhye, PLM Consultant at Intrinsys

Kedar has over a decade of engineering experience to back up his BEng. and MSc. in Mechanical Engineering Design. His design and analysis capabilities are supported by a number of years working in project planning and management roles on multimillion dollar programmes within an international context. Kedar is a certified CATIA trainer, wth experience delivering standard and customised training to companies such as BAE Systems, Jaguar Land Rover, GKN, and Honda. When not training clients he provided customer application support on CATIA (V5 and V6), SIMULIA Abaqus and Isight. He also developed an in-depth knowledge of the CATIA Composites workbench and the FEA component of CATIA. Kedar has continued to develop his software skills, related to Dassault Systemes' latest 3DEXPERIENCE Platform software, and works closely with clients within training, support and as part of the software and process implementation team.
