It can often become a tiresome iterative process designing a part, especially when the number of people involved increases. For simple analysis, the designer can validate their designed component(s) with respect to thickness, design, material, etc using the Generative Structural Analysis workbench inside of CATIA V5. The workbench itself is licence dependant requiring a GAE or FAX add on for PLM Express configurations (which includes the GPS and GAS modules for part and assembly analysis respectively). For P2 platforms a SA2 configuration or the following add on features are required; GAS or GPS.
