CATIA V5-6R2014 Crashes/Abends When Trying to Create a New VBA Library or Run a Macro

Have you found that your recently installed CATIA V5-6R2014 install always crashes when you try to create a new VBA library or try to run a macro? This seems to only be the case when Microsoft Office products are not installed. This is due to the lack of Microsoft C++ 2010 Redistributable packages not being installed.

Simply download them directly from Microsoft using the links below to resolve this problem! It is recommended to install both 32bit and 64bit on 64bit platforms.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64)

In addition, you may want to also install the following found in the installation directory of the CATIA V5 Media in ….win_64\VBA or root\VBA. Please install in the following order:

1) Vba71_x86_KB2803801.msp

2) Vba71_x86_1033_KB2803801.msp

3) Vba71_x64_KB2803801.msp

4) Vba71_x64_1033_KB2803801.msp
